Do you have to learn to name organic compounds from a structure, or to turn a structure into an IUPAC name? This organic chemistry flashcard app contains over 1,600 flashcards designed to help users learn IUPAC nomenclature for organic molecules including all important functional groups from alcohols to thiols, and a section on biochemical molecules. Users will learn how to name simple derivatives or more complex multifunctional molecules using the preferred IUPAC nomenclature (PIN). Helpful information on how to construct a name is provided for each functional group: parent alkane groups, common substituents, group priority suffix and prefixes, and the Cahn-Ingold-Prelog rules for stereochemistry. Each information section also contains two examples for converting names into structures and structures into names to provide you with practice. On the settings page, two modes are available: Flashcards or Multiple-Choice Mode. In Flashcard Mode, users choose from a set of flashcards, touching the flashcard to see the opposite side, or swiping left or right to see new cards or revisit previous cards. In Multiple-Choice Mode, users choose to study structures or IUPAC names and choose from randomly selected answers (every round is different!). Users can also choose to keep score on how many they get right. The app will continue to grow with free updates and more flashcards to be added. No in-app purchases, ever!
